The main usage ofthe rungs or the steps is to give proper support during the time of the work or doing any work related to the heights and there are two types rigid Laddr and roll able ladder. The rigid ladder is very much self-supporting and they may be leaned on the vertical surfaces which may be a wall the roll able ladders are mostly made out of the rope or the aluminum material and they may be hung from the top anywhere. The members which are vertical are called the stingers or the rails or the stiles in the rigid ladder.

The rigid Laddr are available in the many forms such as the accommodation of the ladder which are portable steps that are down the side of the ship or the boarding, the other is the assault ladder which is used in the siege warfare and will assist in the climbing of the walls and the crossing of the moats, the attic ladder which is used in the ceiling which will allow the access of the attic or the loft. The boarding ladder is used to climb the vehicles and also the swim ladder type.
The roll able ladder or the flexible ladder is the one which is used as it is easy for storage and the space covered is extremely limited too.The climbing this ladder will need more skill than the rigid ladder as it has the tendency to swing in the form of a pendulum this is mostly used in the ships and is used on the side of the ship for emergency purposes. The other types are steel and another form of aluminum wire-made ladders which are sometimes used in vertical caving and are developed from rope wooden rungs. The flexible ladders are sometimes used as the swim ladders too in the small boats.
